Aftermath

We had a good Christmas over here.  My parents came up for the holiday and will stay a few more days.  We all went over to Knut’s parents on Christmas Eve, and stayed home Christmas morning, and had some friends over Christmas day evening.

Almost all of us are sick in one form or another.  It started yesterday, and continues on today.  No one has the same sickness, so I’m not sure what to make of it.  Some just have high fevers and aches, others have chest colds, and still others have vomiting and diarrhea, and still others have scratchy throats.
My papa is feeling good, and wanted to know how to help.  I’m having him get rid of our Christmas tree today.  I remember one year Knut had a cold he couldn’t shake, and as soon as we got rid of our tree he was fine.  I doubt it is what is causing all of this, but I’m ready to try everything possible now.  So the tree is gone.  I hate seeing it go before the 12th day of Christmas in January.  It was falling apart with needles everywhere anyway.
So we’ve been taking a lot of rest.  The day after Christmas was filled with napping people everywhere you looked.  Medicine and essential oils are given abundantly.
So if I’m not blogging these days, it’s because I need a nap…or I’m holding a bucket for a kid…or I’m sipping tea on the couch with my mom…
I hope you all are having a peaceful, blessed season.  Even through this sickness, there are blessings to be seen.  Even though the plan was to take everyone skiing on this beautiful, beautiful day, I feel so blessed to have the help of 2 more adults in this house, and all the food we need so we don’t have to run to the store, and just a peaceful rest time for all of us.
I have so many things I want to write, and so many pictures to share.  Next week we’ll catch up.  I think we’re in desperate need to start the routine of school again too, so that may start up again on Monday.  Taking the month of December off was fun, but now we need school back.
