Did you know that Ingrid is giggling now? It’s lots of fun. She is ticklish in so many spots it’s hard to avoid it when changing her clothes.
She’s “talking” tons too. She coos at me in almost every waking hour. Oh my, she’s going to be a chatty ones.
She’s almost rolling over, despite being held almost her whole life. She smiles with her whole body every time any of the older 4 so much as looks at her.
One of her favorite things in the whole world is having no clothes. If she’s crabby for any reason, I’ve learned that all I have to do is take off her clothes, open up her diaper so she’s free of any restriction but still over an absorbing surface. She kicks and coos and giggles and smiles for what feels like forever. Sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes 30. She just loves being naked. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to use that calming trick forever.
She has the strongest, fastest growing nails of any baby I have ever encountered. I have to cut them all the time, and she never had the easy-peel, paper-like newborn nails my other kids had. She’s wiggly too, whether she’s awake or asleep when I clip them. I’ve clipped her skin twice now by accident. Once it drew blood. It’s one of the worst feelings in the world.
For the first time in months it’s starting to feel like spring may start coming. It’s never warm, though. One of these year I’ll probably make all my girls Easter sweaters.
Our wood pile for the fireplace is dwindling. That’s another sign of spring. Each long row of wood was secured with a metal pole on each end. We’ve gone through a few rows, and there’s not much left. So spring better come, or we’ll start getting cold.
Other than thoughts of spring, I don’t have much to say this morning.
I do have some joy to share though!

March 28, 2013 at 1:14 pmThat wood situation is so familiar. As sping approaches we always fun the call for wood rises a little as the cold gets a little harder to fend off.

April 3, 2013 at 4:19 pmYour kiddos are so pretty! By the way, Ingrid looks like the perfect blend of you and Knut. I love how we are starting to see her little face come out from the infant stage. It’s perfect. (…as are those other little faces in the pics. God is having fun.)
