I’m Blessed

Blessings

After a relaxing weekend at Knut’s family’s lake cabin, I’m exhausted.  Who knew relaxing could really make you feel run over by a truck?  I feel a bit scattered about my blessings this week, so I’ll list them as scattered as they are in my brain.

–every opportunity I had to snuggle little Solveig when she wouldn’t sleep this weekend.  O, she’s a joy.  She wouldn’t sleep, but she would sure smile up at me when she wasn’t.

–loons calling to each other across the lake.

–raw peas straight from the garden for a morning snack.

–the fact that our van and our refrigerator still work.  For some reason, these are both old, but I pray they will never die.

–the talk about heaven David and I had on a lazy afternoon on the couch.  It’s all starting to sink in.

–popcorn and a Netflix movie with Knut.

–sailing in a tiny sailboat with Knut.  Seriously…I didn’t know love grew this big.

–yarn, and the order it brings my brain.  (I ran out of the color I needed today…hence the scattered post.)

–my walk out to the chicken coop after the kids are all asleep in bed and the sun begins to set.  (ah…summer.)  I sit and watch them and see to their needs.  I am surprised how much I enjoy this part of my day.  Probably because it’s so quiet.

So how have you been blessed this week?  It’s so easy to get discouraged with life.  I know I do.  God gives and God takes away.  Blessed be His name.  Let us not forget to praise the deeds that He has done in our lives, or be distracted by the things that discourage.

It would bless me, and others who read this blog to share how God has been blessing you.  If you have a moment, type in your link (rules here…and don’t forget to copy and paste your current post, because Mr.Linky will automatically remember your last entry.)

If you don’t have blog or don’t wish link your blog, leave a comment. I bet you’ll feel good meditating on what God is doing in your life.  It will bless others too.  I promise.

So interesting that you mention “God gives and takes away. Blessed be His name”. We sang Blessed Be Your Name church today (and it’s one of my favorites!). What a great reminder of blessing. Thanks for the blog party – it’s been a big blessing in my life!

I dream about relaxing again someday… What a lovely post! I heard once that you can rest when you’re dead. I laughed but now I am beginning to believe it might be true! LOL

It is hard sometimes, but I think it’s awesome that you keep it up. God is the coolest blessing through all this. What a friend to take care of us every time.

I just found your blog today and I’m very thankful for that particular blessing at this moment! I, too, have 4 children, and there are days when I feel “less than” blessed, but more often each evening I am so thankful for their presence in my life. It is my constant prayer of thanks to God that He knew what (who) I needed in my life and when. It’s not easy! But it’s so good. 🙂
