She decided to pack her sweater in her backpack, and wear her spring/fall coat on the bus.
Then it was just a matter of waiting and watching.

I had all these thoughts of how artistic this picture was going to be. But when the bus got here, I froze, and didn’t want to embarass her, as she was horrified I even took this picture. So I just snapped it from where I was from. We were all excited to see her 3rd cousins, Caitlin (sp?) and Conner on the same bus as her. We go to the same church, and the Silje know those two well. Even so, as the bus rode away, there was a big part of me that was ready to hop in the van, and chase after the bus and bring her back home. I’m sure that wouldn’t have been embarassing at all!
And then Knut put his arm around me as I sobbed back to the house. I’ve prepared a photo montage for those who would like to weep with me. My little baby is on the school bus, on her way…

September 2, 2009 at 1:05 pmI am ready to cry with you! (I blame the post-partum emotions for the extra empathy–along with the realization that my boys are growing up way too fast!) Have Knut give you an extra hug for me.
