Well, there was yet another blizzard here around our parts. I was planning to take Elias to Fargo tomorrow to finally get his portrait taken. You may laugh, but this is my 4th attempt to get him to a studio there to get his picture taken, and each time, my plans fall through as the roads to Fargo close due to weather, or one of my kids have been sick. I have been trying to do this for 2 months now. I knew I should have just done it when we were in Phoenix, and had them mail me the pictures.

A bird who has been getting fat this winter off of our bird feeder outside our kitchen window spent several minutes there this morning trying to get out of the wind. We had a lot of fun looking at him.

This is a view outside our kitchen today. In the distance is a row of evergreens, and behind them is the huge grain bins. Unfortunately, the grain bins were not visible today due to the blizzard. The light you see is a reflection of one of the kitchen lights behind me.

This is the view outside our dining room window. It may look just like a tree, but that’s the point. There is a big white barn in front of you, and you can’t see it. Well, if I squint hard at the center of the picture I think I can see some darker white, but I’m not sure if I just know where the barn is and am studying it so hard. Late afternoon one of the doors to the barn was blown open, and all you could see in this field of white was a dark doorway.
Knut put it well that it’s easy to get lost in our own little world in this house on days like today. It’s easy to forget that there’s a whole world out there. It makes me glad that we took the kids to Phoenix this winter, just to see something different.
