Tidbits

family, gardening

So much has been going on that I don’t have some neat little “theme” going on in today’s post. It’s just a whole lot of “stuff.”

Like: check out this baby’s thighs!

What a cutie!

getting so big!

So sweet!

David and Elias and I spent some time together in town, as Silje was doing some kindergarten orientation this week. She had so much fun, got to get a ride on the school bus, have a snack in the cafeteria, do some crafts, read some stories. Let me tell you she is EXCITED for school to start this fall. So David and Elias and I got some flowers for the front flower garden one of the mornings we were in town, waiting for Silje’s school thing to finish. One of the places we went had little red wagons to pull the flowers, and you know David was just all over that! Elias was content in the sling as we shopped. David helped me make most of the choices, and I think it’s going to turn out nicely! About all of the flowers we got are now in the garden, with a few leftovers that will go into pots. I hope Silje will help me with that this afternoon.

Did you know wild asparagus grows out here in the country? You just need to look in the ditches. Knut picked some for us yesterday, and I put some in stir fry last night. Yum! Free = extra yum!

And well, this may not be completely blog appropriate, but is has really affected our family this last week, that I just have to post. Elias didn’t poop for over a week. Yesterday he finally let go. Let me tell you, the last few days he has been so miserable! We tried prunes, blueberry buckle (gerber dessert that one of my friends recommended) and Kero syrup mixed with breastmilk in a bottle like the doctor recommended. This went on for days. But not to worry, he’s finally ok.

This was the last picture I promise! I picked him up! I’m sorry I don’t have a picture of Silje today, since it was such a big week for her, but she’s been rather silly in front of the camera lately, and I haven’t got one decent shot to show you. We’re working on it.

O, and I got to pick up Sassy Pfaffy today from the repair shop. We haven’t sewn together yet, but I’m hoping it won’t be long. I’ve been trying to stay ahead of the weeds in the vegetable garden and the flower garden while she was gone, and I’m almost there, well for at least a few hours.

I think David must wear that baseball shirt every day! I’m so glad we got that for him.

Gretchen! I don’t know if you remember me, Maj Beate’s little sister from Norway? You were my dean in 00/01 : )

I accidently stumbled across your blog, and wow… You have the most amazing family! How fun to see how life has turned out for you. I remember you dating Knut when I was at Hillcrest, and now you’re a wife and mommy. So great! It seems like you are doing really well, I am so glad!

    Blessings from Norway!
