As I mentioned in my previous post, I have a few fun things to share about the company: Mary and Martha. For me, I love all the Scripture and truth-reminders on all their products. I don’t like to fill my house with these things because I’m holier-than-thou, or I’m trying to show off my faith. I do it because I forget. I live in such a battle, where I believe lies all the time. I believe that I have every right to lash out at people. I believe that things will never get better. I let anxiety and depression overwhelm me sometimes. I grow in selfishness and entitlement constantly.
I need the truth in front of my face. The more, the better.
I love to write Bible verses on my walls, and see reminders that all is grace and gratitude when I look at my house. This isn’t me showing off. This is me doing battle.
Before our life turned upside down with David’s specialized diet, I used to do a lot more freezer cooking. I made a lot in bulk, and now cooking is more of a juggling act. One of my favorite things I used to do when I did a lot more freezer cooking is I would make at least 3 identical meals every time I cooked. One meal we would eat that night, one I would stash away in the freezer for a too-busy-to-cook-night, and 1 meal I’d either freeze to give away, or give to a friend who just had a baby, or a mom with littles who was obviously overwhelmed by lack of sleep by her crying-for-help Facebook posts.
I miss giving people meals. I just haven’t been able to do that much. I want to be that friend who shows up with homemade soup and bread when I hear a friend is sick. That’s why I’m so inspired by the disposable meal containers for those who love to bless others in this way too. It’s nice not to give people the job of giving containers back, and these have pretty designs and verses for those who are fighting their own battles too. Pretty things inspire me.
They have soup containers, bread containers, casserole containers, cupcake and cake containers. Basically, I want the whole line. And then I want to bake…just for fun.
I miss baking just for fun. It still happens, but not nearly as often as I’d like. I’ve got a grocery list full of plans with these in my house, and I’m getting the kids involved this time.
I worked a bunch yesterday, filling up some 9×13″ foil pans with some maple-glazed cinnamon rolls, some of which will be fore my family, some for the freezer, and a whole pan to giveaway as a door prize for the party I’m throwing on Saturday.
I can fight a lot of battles with maple-glazed cinnamon rolls from a friend. (You can lose a lot of battles with them too, but that’s another post. 😉 )
But my favorite products are not disposable at all. They’re probably the sturdy wire baskets (which are even prettier in person) and the heavy pretty pitcher. The quality of these is just perfection.
My current wish-list:
This gorgeous pizza tray:
…among about 5 or 10 other things. They even have jewelry, friends. Jewelry.
So, humor me! What are some of your favorites on the website. (Or their gorgeous catalog that you can download here.) If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me an email, or just in the comments below, whichever you feel comfortable with.
