I’m Blessed

Uncategorized

Well, if anything came from this whole mouse debacle, it’s I finally got my clean house.  Well, almost. The upstairs bedrooms have some laundry piles, but having one 2 floors clean besides one entryway is quite a feat for this mother of 5.  It required us eating popcorn and toast for supper a few nights because I had no time to cook well rounded meals, but I can sleep a little better at night.  I’ll catch up on good meals soon.  For now it’s all making me smile.

Morning chores today were a breeze.  We only caught one mouse in the traps this morning so that means we are nearing done of this whole mouse fiasco, right?  Right?

Other than the drama at home, we have been out and about quite a bit.  Silje had another weekly volleyball game on Saturday, followed by David’s Tae Kwon Do tournament and awards ceremony for the year. Even though planting has started. Knut found a way to make it to both events, which made me happy.  We even got a bit of rain yesterday which was badly needed, and had some friends over to our super clean house.

David got 2 metals, and 2 patches to put on his outfit.  His patches were for academic achievement, and he got an attitude patch of “confidence.” The metals were for his forms performance in which he got rated 3rd out of 5 kids in his belt color.  Then in his sparing match, he lost by one point, but still metaled since there were only 2 kids in that belt ranking competing.  I think he was expecting to do better than he did, but he was a good sport, and the fact that it was his first tournament and that he was still figuring everything out, I think he did pretty well.  All the teachers and black belts who were refereeing and serving as judges were so encouraging to each of the kids, and there was such a mutual respect between them, and a constant show of honor that it was really a fun event to be at.

This week already proves to be just as busy.  We got to see Knut, we got lots of soft rain, we got a clean house, we got to see our kids work hard in their sports, we got to have friends over, and the mice are dwindling…I think.

Either way, I’m blessed.
