Yarn Along

knitting

This last week I got my first sample for my “Lady Pearl” sweater completed.  It’s only lacking a little button for the back neck.  It fits like a glove.  Seriously, I didn’t want to take it off.  I can’t wait to cast on version #2 for the pattern, because it was such an easy, fun, fast knit.  It might wait for a few weeks.  I’m making myself finish up the pattern writing for my Rhubarb Cardigan before I buy the yarn for it.  I have a babysitter lined up for this weekend, so it should get done.  Sigh…but I calculated out the yarn that I want for it and it’s pricier than I would like for such a project.  So I’m thinking on it.  I’m looking into some other options, and stewing.  While I stew, I might move onto my next project.  “Lady Pearl” isn’t scheduled to be published until August, so I have some time to consider.

I’m trying to work through my stash and have every other project be yarn that is exclusively from my stash.  This project fit the bill of a stash-project, so that’s an improvement.  I have a tiny bit more room in my yarn baskets again.  Since the sample #2 will require new yarn, my next project that I’m casting on will be stash-based as well.  I’m debating about going with my lace-weight Madelinetosh cardigan that I have planned, or my Brooklyn Tweed “Loft” pullover cardigan which will have a similar colorwork design to my Cozy Morning Mitts.  Decisions, decisions…

Beautiful! The timing of it’s release will be perfect for fall/Christmas knitting. The design and color combinations are gorgeous!

The Loft of course! hee hee really I am just jealous because I love BT Loft so much, but I’m allergic to it. I think that is the saddest thing in the world. If I wasn’t I’d use BT and Beaverslide for all my projects. I can’t wait to see your sweater! Good luck with your stash knitting.

It’s been so long since I’ve visited. What a beautiful sample. I’ve never done this kind of knitting but have wanted to give it a try. Both BT and beaver slide sounds like great options. I hear they are amazing to knit with. ( here in FL we have very limited options in wool! I never seem to find the gumption to mail order them either because I don’t plan ahead very well. A very impulsive knitter indeed! ) visiting from Yarn Along

This is absolutely beautiful! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a prettier colorwork pattern. 🙂
