Thank you all for your sweet comments yesterday. I treasure every one of them.
I’ve been snapping my camera a lot this last week. Ingrid is on the move big time. She’s at that sneaky-fast stage that causes my camera to blur. She’s the biggest, “Daddy’s girl” yet, as she runs into his arms every time he sets foot in the house. She laughs all the time. All the time. I joke that her older siblings love to make her laugh so much that the path in her brain to trigger laughter is worn so deeply that it’s her automatic reaction to almost everything.
The kids have been still figuring out what to do inside the house, but yesterday was a very welcome warm day that melted a ton of snow. Now when we look outside our house we see a lot of brown in the fields. We’re all pretty excited about that. That brown will be green before you know it.
The massive melt made our driveway slushy. Bringing Silje to piano lessons, I got stuck once in our driveway and once in her teacher’s driveway on the way there, but was able to get myself out. On the way home, though, I got stuck pretty bad in the deep, deep slush of our driveway that I had to call Knut to get it pulled out.
That deep slush is keeping us from going to a friend’s house today at a neighboring homestead. The kids are pretty bummed about that so I think we’ll make some chocolate chip cookies this morning. I’m not sure if it’s enough to lift their spirits, but I know I’ll feel better.
Still, it was our first deep breath of spring, and we are left full of lots of hope.
Spring is coming…eventually. We can feel it!

March 11, 2014 at 1:18 pmI feel new breath in your post this morning! Your pictures are glorious.
We had a warm day here in N.Texas yesterday and I was able to uncover the peonies! They are budding up and ready to grow tall. I hope the ice for us is over.
So sorry about the deep mud. That can be as bad as the snow huh?

March 11, 2014 at 2:46 pmThere is something SO special about Spring, when it comes after a long winter. Sometimes, I wonder if God doesn’t just intentionally allow a long winter so that we can enjoy the beauty of the spring He unveils even more than ever. Hmmm.
