Yarn Along – Birthday Edition

Uncategorized

Today is Solveig’s birthday.  Today she is 3 years old.  Oh, this girl.  She is joy personified.  She widdles her way into everyone’s heart.  When I was sick last week, she was the kid who kept sneaking upstairs to check on me and pet my hair.  She has a bubbly, yet very sensitive heart.  This is my child who will burst into tears if I so much raise my voice.

These are some of my favorite pictures of her from earlier this year.

This was just days after her last birthday, and holding Ingrid for the first time.  She wouldn’t let anyone else hold her.  She was “her” baby.

Today will be pretty low key.  We’re doing a lot of Christmas baking.  We’ll probably have a little cake tonight, though she and Ingrid will celebrate at a big family party next Monday.  Since they’re so little we decided to combine their parties, and their gift.  (They’re getting a little puppet theater together.)

And of course, since it is Wednesday, here’s my Yarn Along picture:

I finished my fingerless mitts.  I’ve been working on the pattern, and it should be done today, with the goal of getting it to a tech editor this evening.  I’ve moved ahead to a sweater pattern I had not planned on starting until after the New Year.  This is because I’ve decided to try not to work on the girls’ Christmas presents while they are still awake.  So I pick away at this sweater while they’re awake, and as soon as they are in bed at night, I rush towards their little wool bunnies and start stitching until the wee hours.  I think I have a good 9 evenings left on those 3 bunnies and their outfits, if I’ve timed it right.  I won’t be able to do it every night because of parties, but that should be enough time left.  Right?  Right?  (I hope so…)

Linking up with Ginny, for her weekly Yarn Along.

I was very surprised how quickly the bunnies worked up, and as soon as you’ve done one, the others will fly. 🙂 They will love them. Heck, I love them and I’m 30!

You can just see the mischievous look on that little girls face. I know – I have one of my own! At 18 she still has that same look. Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Solveig, I love the snuggles you give as you run by at church. Being square dance partners was so much fun at Sarah’s wedding!
