Missy has had an eventful few days. She was limping. Knut was worried she was hit by a car, but the vet said it wasn’t likely. She’s a big dog and has the typical hip issues, and she said it’s likely related to that, as they think she slipped and fell, twisting her knee at some point. She has a partially torn ligament in her right knee and has big rest orders for the next week or two. I’m hoping she’ll rest well, because if she doesn’t she could blow her knee out completely. We don’t need that happening.
Everyone is doting on her from the chickens who stay as close as possible to where we have her set up, to the little baby kittens who are now able to venture outside on their own, to the kids who she snuggles against, and most especially by Silje who got her to take her medicine better than anyone else in the family. Of course, no one is surprised by that.
Missy’s rarely at a loss for company.
So I keep telling Missy she better rest well. We need her too badly for her to get hurt like this. We wouldn’t have made it to laying age with the hens without her.
