Here’s one of the books I’m reading through this Lent season. Bread and Wine
is just a collection of essays from some hero’s of the faith on various thoughts of the cross. It’s incredibly moving and convicting. It’s quite a lot to ponder on.
I’ve also been going through some old Taproot magazines. A friend of mine had a year subscription for the first year, and wondered if I wanted the old issues. I’ve been debating back and forth for quite awhile as to whether or not I want a subscription to this magazine, so I was delighted to get a year’s worth of preview. So far I love it! My only wish is that each issue were longer, and have even more. The writing is so good, and there are some fun projects in there. One issue has how to naturally dye eggs for Easter using things like coffee grounds and various plants. I think it would be a really fun project with the kids.
I finished my “Post Cardigan”:
Pattern writing is slow with Ingrid. I spent one whole evening writing up the pattern. Last night I did the size grading for about the first half of the pattern. I’m hoping during naptime to finish the last half of the grading. What normally takes me 3-4 hours is taking me much longer because of the constant interruptions. However, it’s coming much easier to me than it normally does. I’ve been taking the Craftsy class “Sizing Knitwear Patterns” and I’m learning how to streamline my sizing process using spreadsheets, and basically pre-writing the pattern before casting on my designs. It’s been a goal of mine to be able to do that.
I’m using that process from the beginning of pre-writing with the bright pink cardigan that I’m working on now. Normally at this point of a sweater design, I would have ripped back at least once. After this class, however, I haven’t had to knit back once, and everything continues to measure out perfectly and it is feeling so fast! This cardigan may be done weeks ahead of where I had it on my calendar, and that makes me very happy! So I need to get this Post cardigan written up so I can get this pink one typed up from my spreadsheet calculations and polished next!
Sometimes, though, there are more important things to do this winter. Like roasting hot dogs in the fireplace for supper.
I do have priorities.
Linking up with Ginny once again this Wednesday.

I’m a big fan of Taproot – it’s so nourishing, I feel I get more out of it than I ever have from another publication because it’s all so relevant to my lifestyle.
