Not My Child!

Not Me Monday

MckMama is mixing things up this Monday, as we’re not talking about things moms have done, but things our kids do. I should give you 2 WARNINGS about this post. First, it’s very long as I have a lot of material from the last week with Grammy and Papa here. Second, beware of pictures that I’ve inserted in like this one:

that has nothing embarrassing at all, but is cute and I’m trying to post pictures of what we’ve been doing and the “not my child Monday” so I can kill 2 birds with one stone. What can I say…I’m a busy mama.

At the softball game last week, my kids stayed perfectly pristine.

They never play in the dirt there, and behave like angels.

I went a little crazy with the picture taking here. I just don’t know where to stop!

My child is never mistaken for a cartoon character. He never runs like a cartoon character, gearing up before he moves, and he doesn’t have this habit of repeating everything you say in the form of a question. For example:

Grammy: David, you look handsome today.
David: I look handsome today?
Grammy: Yes, you do.
David: I do?
Grammy: You have a nice shirt on.
David: I have a nice shirt on?
I’ll stop there. I really couldn’t go on for hours.

These are not my children. Well, 2 of them are.

None of my children love to watch t.v. way too much.

These are definitely not my kids.

My child did not spend a ton of time playing in a firetruck in the mall without any quarters to put in them, and he most certainly did not ward away any customers said firetruck may have had.

My child is rarely seen with a book, and can easily go 10 minutes without reading one.

Again, not my kids.

My child did not have a race with his older brother and sister for the first time and squeal with delight. Um, my child doesn’t wear pajamas all day long either.

Now, that looks like a charming child…

Nope, not mine!

Not my kids, these ones are sleeping.

My child didn’t fall asleep like magic at the county fair. When this child’s mother put her lemonade in the cup holder of the stroller and then the stroller went over a bump, this child did not get splashed in the face with lemonade, and then wake up to lemonade in his eyes and be understandably was crabby until we, ahem, his family got home.

My children were well behaved at the fair.

My girl did not hear another girl tell her mommy that she wanted to ride in the purple balloon, and then when the gates open, push that other girl over so she could get to the purple balloon first. Nope, not my child!

My child did not sneak up to his room, and snuggle with his blanket on the floor, and then fall asleep in a position that makes you think he’s a plummer who is praying to Mecca.

This child did not just sneak into this post to look cute.

And this angel is not sleeping…

after spending some good time tearing the wallpaper in her brother’s room. Nope, not my child!

And sometimes these dear children’s fathers wonder what a mother does all day long!?!
