Our church had mission Sunday recently, and even though we didn’t bring our camera, Silje and Knut got their picture taken in the Japanese section where a Japanese seminarian couple brought several kimonos for people to dress up. Silje is holding up the Japanese purse that she just loved. She looks so Japanese, right? (Besides the curly blonde hair and blue eyes, and the fact she’s a little tall for her age, that is.) Even though China didn’t have a booth there, this was the closest she got, and she just loved it. (For those who don’t know, Silje has a huge facination with China, and all things Chinese.) My Uncle Eric (whose blog is on the right) told me that since she has such an interest, we should funnel that, and teach her how to pray for China every day. So that’s something we do every night before bed, and her heart for China is definatley growing. I hope one day we’ll be able to take her there.
It was such a fun evening with booths representing several countries. (Including a Norway booth, complete with kromkakke.) (Not sure on that spelling!) The Szobody family did a presentation about their activities in Chad, and the Kittleson family was there for the event. They had presented Sunday morning about their work in Taiwan. There were so many people there, and it was just a blast!
