So as you can see, I’ve had some people over. With everyone and their cousin coming to the great Overgaard reunion out at Inspiration Point, most of my aunts, uncles, and first cousins stopped out at our place before headed up to camp. Many of them have never been to visit us, and it was a full house!
My Grandma brought the food, so we just had to provide the space. We just used paper plates and everyone found a place to be, and we just had so much fun. It was also one of my cousin’s birthday, so we celebrated that as well.
In this picture is my Great-Uncle Wilf (I hope I spelled that right!) Elias, me, and one of my Uncle Johns. (I believe the only Uncle John at the reunion this year.) For those people making connections, Wilf, Bob Overgaard, JoAnn Larson, my Grandma Esther, my Great Aunt Ruth, and others who have passed on are siblings, and all of those peoples family were at the reunion.
Here is Silje and her Great-Grandpa out at camp.
We had a family talent show which was so much fun!
The kids played on the play ground about every moment possible. The staff out there were so helpful all the time!
And here is the promised “David picture” of my Grandpa David, my son David, and my first cousin David.
Here’s my cousin David and Elias getting to know one another. Many of you remember me talking about my cousin who was born about 3 months prematurely a little over a year ago. Isn’t God good! Look at him now! Walking and saying a few words and just a little gem!
Some of my aunts could not resist the natural “mohawk” that Elias has been growing and spiked it up this day.
Side note:
**I should have gotten a picture of me and my second cousin, Gretchen. She’s just a little girl, and so to avoid confusion, people called her little Gretchen, and I was…you guessed it…Big Gretchen! I must admit that I’ve never been known as “Big Gretchen” before nor did I ever think that I would be called that. **
These water slide pictures may be excessive, but I wasn’t sure which one to cut out.
The kids were so nervous, but really loved it!
Knut was the good parent who braved the cold water to be with the kids. Their warm blooded Arizona mother was quite content to take pictures from the dock.
David realized that he may have walked out too deep…
Knut talking David into coming down…
And of course after the reunion, we had those over to our house whose flight didn’t leave right away, and wanted to hang out for a few hours. There were left over birthday decorations for my cousin still up.
It’s tough to be handed about 2 months worth of blog post material in about a week, and I have so many amazing stories and funny things to share. I wish I had a laptop to take with me and a half hour every day to share all of the fun we’ve been having. Maybe that’s what old fashioned journals are for! Would you believe I still have more pictures to share that are really good, but I’ll save that for another post coming soon.
My parents are still here, and we’re soon headed out to the lake, and fair, and then they have to head back home. Then we’re off to Montana. Thank you to my parents who contributed some of these pictures.
